    Vuuilia swished his tail in agitation, hissing angrily. He grasped at the water laden form of his friend and stared angrily at the other Merkuns bobbing in the water.    “Brother, why do you protect him so? Is he not one of the surface dwellers? One of our sworn enemies?” Vuuilia hissed again as he was prodded by one of the others spears.    “Yes. He is a land dweller, and yes, he is one of our sworn enemies, but he is also a dear friend who has helped me greatly.” Suddenly the soaked creature in his arms started to cough up water.    “Vuuilia?
